Mini Trigger Work

48 reviews Write a Review
Note: We do not give you an option for trigger weight. They all fall between 3 and 3.5lbs. This may be heavier or lighter than you are used to, but after all our customers have the trigger in hand, everyone agrees that it is a huge improvement, and a great feeling trigger. If you have a preference within that weight range, you can request that on the note you include with the trigger, but these Mini triggers simply do not allow as much adjustment to weight as other firearms do.
We include the overtravel stop behind the trigger on every Mini trigger we do. There are a few very old Minis which have a different trigger guard, which doesn't allow us to do that modification, but I would say that's less than 2% of the Mini groups we see. I will try and get more information and pictures, but at this point you can assume that your trigger group is getting an overtravel stop.
Like the Ruger 10/22, the Mini 14 filled a niche in a way few other firearms have. They have been wildly popular for decades, with current models leaving the shelves faster than ever. However the shear popularity of their firearms, along with a few other business factors, have made Ruger a target for lawsuits over the years. In an effort to combat this, Ruger tends to produce remarkably heavy triggers handicapping their otherwise solid firearms.
This service is for a basic trigger job. No parts are swapped during this work. Unlike the 10/22, the Mini 14 has a fairly solid, quality, trigger group, which usually only needs some judicious shaping, polishing, and spring work to get a vastly improved trigger pull. There is a degree of art/technique involved in the process, and that's where a qualified gunsmith comes in. We will smooth and lighten the pre-travel in the trigger, create a crisp and clean break at a significantly lighter weight, and install an overtravel stop. That stop will improve the theoretical accuracy of your firearm, produce a cleaner feeling break, and will greatly reduce the trigger reset distance. On these groups there is a limit to how light you can go and still have it be safe. The lower limit on these groups is generally 3lbs, give or take a little.
Keep in mind that this is a two stage trigger. When you start to pull the trigger there will be some 'take up' as you compress the trigger return spring, typically about 1.5lbs worth of pressure. You are then going to 'hit the wall' where the trigger movement stops. At this point (assuming a 3lb trigger pull) you only need apply an additional 1.5lbs of pressure for the trigger to break. It might not be what you are used to, but the result is that a 3lb two stage trigger will feel lighter than a 3lb single stage.
Before it leaves our shop, we will inspect and test for feel, final pull weight, and safety. That includes the manual safety, proper sear engagement, and proper disconector engagement and tension. A positive sear/hammer engagement is maintained so that the firearm will not discharge if accidentally bumped or dropped. The disconector engagement is checked, and sometimes even increased, to ensure there is no chance of firing multiple rounds with a single pull, regardless of how light that pull is.
We offer a 100% money back guaranty on all our work.
Obviously we are trying to run a business, but if our customers are not happy, we will not have a business for long.
We do whatever we can to ensure our customers are fully satisfied both with their product and their service.
Many brands of steel-cased 7.62x39 have very hard primers that the factory hammer spring often fails to ignite.  If you plan on shooting steel-cased ammunition in your Mini 30, we recommend installing a Wolff extra power hammer spring to ensure consistent ignition.  This is generally not necessary with Mini-14s or brass-cased 7.62x39.  The heavier hammer spring will also generally add an ounce or two to your trigger pull, so some triggers with this option may come in slightly above 3.5lbs.
Return shipping and handling will be added to your order when you check out, regardless of how much you purchase. Once you have purchased this service our website will automatically send you a confirmation email with all of the shipping and packaging instructions. If you do not get one, check your spam or trash folders. If you still don't see it, you can visit our shipping information page here.

We are processing triggers on Tuesday and Friday. So if your trigger arrives on a Monday, you wont get an email saying that it's arrived until Tuesday. (In other words, stop panicking if you don't get an email from us the same day your shipper said it arrived.) You will get another email with a tracking number after the first saying that it's finished and shipped.

Thanks for your interest! Feel free to contact us at any point, and happy shooting.

Work done on my series 185 mini 14 trigger group was fantastic. 3 lb pull now. Shoots like a dream. 1st and 2nd stage are still very distinct in their feel . Almost like having a set trigger & a main trigger. Also work is beautiful to look at ,such a fine finish job. All done in such a short turn around time too. Just FANTASTIC ! Again, thank you Brimstone !

    Mini Trigger work

Excellent job on trigger work. Trigger is at 3 lbs and very nice 2 stage pull. I had to send it back because the trigger would not reset after loading a follow up round. Called you guys and described the issue and your guy knew exactly what the problem was. He instructed me to send it back. A few weeks later I guy it back and test fired about twenty rounds with no issue. I really very pleased with the trigger job and your outstanding service. The mini 14 is a pleasure to shoot now. I will recommend Brimstone to all my friends and shooting brothers. Many Thanks!!!!!! Jim

    Mini 30 trigger job

In a word FANTASTIC. loved the concept of the mini 30, bought one and the stock trigger was terrible. Set it off to Brimstone after research. I got it back yesterday and it is awesome. I have shot 3 gun Pistol, high power rifle IPSC to International and Interservice level and Im telling you this trigger is National Match quality. Best money you can spend on your Ranch or Mini 30

    Mini Trigger

I just reinstalled my trigger after I got it back from Brimstone. It has a short light take up and then breaks clean with no over travel. The pull including the take up measured at 3 lbs 2 oz. This is the best mini 14 trigger I have ever pulled. It reminds me of my geissele SSA on my AR15 which cost around $300. Great work!!

    Mini 14 trigger work

Purchased a brand new Mini-14: the stock trigger was a nasty, gritty mess. I didn’t even send a round through it. I sent the trigger group to Brimstone immediately. The result : near perfection. Smooth, minimal take-up, crisp 3lb7oz pull. I mean crisp! Can’t wait to share this with my buddies - the look of surprise and envy...Thank you Brimstone, Brian.

    Mini 14 trigger job.

Not nearly as good as they portray on their websight. I shoot smallbore competition for many years and know what a 3.5 to 4 pound trigger pull is like. The trigger job I got is not smooth and is mor like 5 to 7 pounds. I feel I wasted my money with Brimstone!
