Ruger 10/22 Muzzle Threading

It seems there is no end to the muzzle devices folks will come up with, ranging from aggressive brakes (which really do nothing on a 10/22) to flash hiders, cosmetic things, and all the way up to true suppressors/silencers. But whatever you are wanting to stick on there, the clamp on options look tacky and never really work. Threading the muzzle is the only way to go.

We will cut the barrel directly behind the front sight. So before you send the barrel to us, make sure you have some other option lined up for sights, such as a scope or red dot. We will thread the barrel 1/2x28 which is the standard thread for .22 calibers. It's used on all AR's, so you will have a truly vast selection of devices. Once that's finished we will cut an 11 degree target crown on the muzzle.

It's terribly hard to get good pictures of threads, but looking at the picture here, you can see that the threads are clean with no burrs or irregularities. The standard threads will be 1/2" long which works for just about everything, and there is a relief cut behind the threads allowing anything to screw on square with the barrel shoulder, without the need for spacers or a crush washer. Our rimfire suppressor threads are cut to industry specs with a clean shank of un-threaded barrel right at the muzzle. This is a clean surface for an O-ring to seat against, which keeps all the nasty rimfire junk out of the threads. If you plan to run a suppressor at some point, that's not a bad option. The threads are cut between centers meaning that they are dead-nuts concentric with the axis of the barrel, so you'll have no problems if/when you spin a can on there. Also as you can see from the pictures, the crown is very clean with the rifling ending square and clean, the lands/grooves are clearly visible.

Thread Protector
We offer knurled thread protectors in black or silver. You can also (soon) purchase various muzzle devices from us on the site, or just include your own with the barrel and we will install it for you. If you do that, please select the correct option from the drop down.

Rear Dovetail Filling
Since we are cutting off the front sight, there is really no need for your rear sight. If you want us to fill it, we will actually hammer in a dovetail filler and blend and hand polish everything to perfectly fill the rear dovetail. YOU MUST PURCHASE CERAKOTE at the same time if you want us to do this project, because obviously there will be a lot of polishing marks on the barrel. But, it'll look outstanding when it's all done.
