After being out of production for a number of years, the old Rimfire Tech pull magazine release is being manufactured again by yours truly!
(Complete directions with pictures on how to install this can be found here. We encourage you to read through that BEFORE ordering so that you know exactly what you're getting into)
This is without question the lightest and smoothest magazine release we have ever used for the Ruger 10/22. You simply reach forward with your index finger, pull back just like pulling a trigger, and the magazine drops free. You don't have to dig your finger into the underside of the gun, and you're not pushing the release into the path of the magazine. But the real beauty of this piece is how incredibly light and smooth it is. I don't want to get to carried away with the description here, but seriously, you almost need to experience it to understand. They are machined from billet aluminum, then Cerakoted to match your trigger and other parts, which allows some truly custom colors and color combinations.
This will also come with one of our very awesome auto bolt releases. Because of the geometry and range of motion of this magazine release, it will not work with factory bolt releases, and we cannot guaranty that it will work with any other aftermarket ones. However, down the road, if you want to switch back to the factory magazine release, our auto bolt release will work great with those.
You will need to tap one hole in your trigger group, but there's no drilling required and you will still be able to switch back to your factory magazine release down the road.
(Science Stuff: The hole is on the small side for the 8-32 tap, but since the material is polymer or aluminum, you can run the tap through without issue and the minor diameter of the threads will be really close to the original diameter of the original hole. Therefore, no need to drill and you can reuse your factory pivot pin down the road if you want to switch back to the factory release down the road.)
This release actually pivots around the front pin that holds the trigger group into the receiver. As such, this kit will come with a slave pin; you'll assemble your trigger group, install the new magazine release with the slave pin, then use the factory receiver/trigger group pin to push out the slave pin. With a little practice you can assemble them without the slave pin (that's what we do here in the shop), but better directions will be up here as soon.
Thanks for looking! We are incredibly excited about bringing this product to market, and don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions!

An excellen addition to your 10/22
When I saw this magazine release, I knew I had to have it. I was not impressed with the aftermarket levers, I wanted something simple to use. I can say that this upgrade should be the first thing you do to your 10/22. The instructions are first rate, and all tooling you need is included. Installation took me about 30 minutes or so, and now my 10/22 ejects magazines like it should, no digging around trying to pull it out. This is a first rate product from a first rate manufacturer.
