Trigger work is back! Thanks for your patience!

This is a trigger job on YOUR trigger group!! You are not buying new parts here. You check out, ship us your group, and we will work our magic on it and ship it back.

Seriously. We aren't shipping you a new group. You laugh, but at least five people a month do not read this.

(Okay, if you ALSO purchase a new trigger group from us and select 'Yes please do the trigger work I also purchased one this group,' obviously we are going to do the work and ship it back to you. But... that does not apply to any of the folks who don't read the disclaimer...)

The Tier 3 Trigger Job
We believe in giving you accurate 'bang for your buck.' This trigger work was never intended to cost more than the original rifle, but... if the original rifle had this trigger, we would never have had a job reworking all these triggers!

This trigger job uses all factory parts. This is good if you are wanting to put together a 'sleeper' rifle, making it look bone stock. The downside is that the factory parts have some fundamental geometry issues that you can't overcome with any amount of polishing. Namely, the hole for the trigger return spring and plunger are drilled at an angle in relation to the trigger. This means that as soon you begin to pull the trigger, the trigger return plunger is going to bind in its hole and, no matter how shiny you make it, it's going to negatively impact the trigger feel. Not saying that anything is going to feel 'mushy,' but the pretravel will not be as light, nor will the 'wall' be quite as crisp as on a Tier 2 where we have our billet trigger and new trigger return system. But, this will be a solid step up from a Ruger BX trigger, for example. And less money too, which never hurts.

End result, this trigger will have a vastly lighter and smoother pre travel. We can't promise that it will be perfect, especially if you're sending in an older aluminum trigger, but it will be vastly improved and on a polymer group, it will probably be perfect, if slightly heavier than on a Tier 2. There should be a good solid wall, with a clean glass rod break. The trigger will still have all the overtravel that the original trigger had, but the reset will be smooth and positive.

Again. No one would drop this trigger in a $8,000 benchrest gun. But you're going to get it back and the odds are great that you will never feel the need to upgrade it again. We have done tens of thousands of these triggers over the years. A super solid upgrade for your firearm without breaking the bank.

Pull Weight
We only offer the 'Sweet Spot' trigger pull weight now. This is where your trigger naturally wants to be. It will be between 2 and 2.5lbs. After 13 years of doing this... I'm done trying to convince a trigger to go somewhere it doesn't want to be, which always hurts the reliability to boot.

BOLT RELEASE MODIFICATION
There is a little metal tab on the bottom of the trigger housing, towards the front of the trigger guard. If you hold the bolt to the rear, push up on this tab, and let the bolt forward, it will lock the bolt open. This is used as a safety on ranges that require the action to be open when the range is 'cold', or for when you are cleaning the barrel. To close the bolt however, you need three hands. One to hold the rifle, one to pull back on the bolt, and the third to press up on that tab and somehow rotate it to the rear. It's a pain, and not exactly safe if you have a loaded magazine inserted.

On all of our trigger work, we modify this so that you still lock the action open exactly the same as before, but to close the bolt you just pull back slightly on the charging handle and let it go, just like you do with any other semi-auto firearm. The hold back will drop out of the way on it's own when you pull back on the charging handle, without you touching the bolt release. This is NOT a last round hold open! No 10/22 built has a last round hold open from the factory. There is one company making them, Google it if you have more questions. We don't carry or install the part.

I bought a second 10/22 and hated the stock trigger. My other was a Kidd 2-stage. I didn’t want to spend that much on my backup/loan out 10/22 so I tried Brimstone. I received it back from them and it is on the same level as my Kidd trigger. Yes, it

    Trigger work

Posted by Dave on May 24th 2019

Sent my trigger group from my stock 10/22. Asked for tier 1. Got it back in about three weeks. Went to the range just before I sent the group out and Bach to the range just after receiving the group back. What a pleasure to shoot. A lot less fliers. Was a real joy to shoot. Let one of my friends shoot it and he wanted to know if Brimstone worked on savage triggers. Also the bolt release is a real bonus. Smooth as can be. For a hundred bucks this has to be the best value add to any 10/22. I'm very happy with the work.

    10/22 Tier 1 tigger work

I'm very pleased with the work done. I had the Tier 1 service on a brand new 10/22 trigger, added the wide trigger shoe, and the pull magazine release. Very pleased with it all. Liked how the gunsmith who worked on it left a note about it and the pull weight. Why bother with a BX trigger group when you have this.

Vast improvement over the stock trigger and comparable to more expensive trigger replacement options.

    Tier 1 trigger

I've had gunsmith work done on a number of triggers. This brimstone far surpasses them all. I went for the sweet spot and it a hair over two pounds no creep just a clean crisp break with a short reset. Pretty much perfection!

    Trigger tier 1 work

The work they’ve done is absolutely incredible. The stock trigger feels like a joke compared to what I have now. I can’t recommend this service enough
